My head did let up enough Sunday for me to finish the one feather. However, I’m having such a hectic week, that I haven’t gotten to touch it since. 😦
Oh boy, am I anxious to get back on this! In the meantime, I’m doodling feathers whenever I get a chance.
I don’t have much to report this week. I’m still working on my Eleanor Burns quilts. I finished quilting my Wild Onion jacket, haven’t stitched up the seams yet. I didn’t buy any fabric, even though I got lots of tempting emails from fabric shops having Superbowl sales. Not sure what the Superbowl has to do with fabric sales….
I pulled a FatBack! from my stash to back this vintage quilt top I’m quilting.
On the body stash busting…my starting weight this week was 148. My weight today was 147, for a loss this week of one pound. That’s a total loss of 7 lbs. I worked out six times last week. I’m hoping to get back into some of my favorite pants that I like to wear to work. Well, as of today, I can get back in them, buttoned and zipped. However, I still cant wear them, because honestly, the only place I want to see a c@mel toe is on a camel. 😮
After four long years, finally….
I am so happy! I’ve waited so long to see a feather like that come from my needle. I’m also frustrated because I have to stop there, as I’m getting a nasty headache today. Wouldn’t ya know it? I’m off to medicate myself, and maybe I will feel like getting back to it b4 the day is done.
Before I go, I want to say how much I appreciated the input on yesterday’s post. Thank you to everyone for your comments.
I decided to play around on the longarm some today. I’m pretty pleased with the way my little feathers came out, shape wise. The very center part isn’t right, but other than that, I like the way they look, from the front.
Now about the back…I have some questions for you more seasoned feather experts. I don’t like the way mine look on the back, where the thread builds up…is it supposed to look like this? Or do I need to fiddle with my tension some more? I’m using Signature cotton, Tex 40.
I uploaded the pics as thumbnails, so you can click on them and make them bigger, and really see what I’m talking about. They look “messy” where the thread is backtracked. How do I make this look better? Any advice you might like to bestow on me would be greatly appreciated. 🙂 Sorry the pics aren’t a little better, I was laying on my back under the longarm table, trying to take them.
A little “just for fun” post this Friday morning, as I sit drinking my coffee and getting geared up to get myself out the door to work. When you first log on to the internet, what is on your homepage? At work, mine is on msn.com. But here at home, every morning, I am greeted by a new face from www.dogoftheday.com. I love this website. It’s been my homepage for a few years now. Today’s pic and story are a perfect example of why I enjoy it so much. I love happy endings.
My friend’s (who is also my coworker) husband got put in the hospital yesterday. He tested positive for “the flu” and has fluid in one side of his chest. I have been feeling like I’m coming down with some upper respiratory something or another for the last couple days. So I am hitting the Mucinex to see if I can fend it off. Yuk! My hubby was coughing a lot this morning, too. And he is wanting to leave Sunday for another week long fishing trip. I told him he can’t go if he’s getting the same crap our friend Brad has. Brad, by the way, is not only my friend’s husband, he is my husband’s friend. He also works at our shop on his days off from his regular job, for some extra $$. And my son is friend’s with their oldest son. So we all spend a lot of time together, in one way or another. And now I’ve digressed from my original “homepage” topic, lol. Gotta go anyway! TGIF!!!
