First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to post such nice comments about my starry log cabin and left good wishes for Lulu. I really appreciate it and enjoy your visits to my blog. 🙂 Lulu isn’t completely well, but she does seem to be getting better.
This week is my early off work Friday. I only had to go in til 11:00 this morning to have all my time in. I had great quilting plans for my afternoon. I was going to get the borders added to my cousin’s quilt, and start on the backing, and get a headstart on my weekend housecleaning. Not to be…my neck & shoulder pain has shot my plans all to hell. I woke up this morning with so much pain & stiffness in my neck, that I can’t bend my head all the way down. I have spent most of the time since I got off laying in bed, hoping my muscles would relax. I have taken two muscle relaxers and some anti-inflammatory. Now I am going to console myself with what’s left of the Blue Bell Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream ice cream, and vegetate in front of the TV. Whine, whine, whine… 😦
You poor thing, I feel for you, have they done and MRI on your cervical spine??????? Not only is this bad physically but mentally it is even harder. Hang in there, l will be sending my prayers and well wishes your way. I am going through the same thing so I feel for you…..

Sorry you are having problems Randi. I have whiplash in the left side of my neck due to a rear end collision in 2002 and rotator cuff problems in my left shoulder. I guess because of the change on the weather they have been hurting. I have found relief with the Therma Care heat wraps. I usually get the ones for the neck but can also use them on my shoulder. I have also laid on a heating pad and got relief. Hope this helps.

Randi, it must be a hazard of our profession. I’m not having as much trouble as Ronda, but I’ve been doing physical therapy the last few weeks for bulging cervical discs. So I can relate as well. Hope you feel better soon, but you might want to get it checked out if you haven’t already.

I’m so sorry to read that you and Lulu are both under the weather, Randi. I also have problems with my neck and shoulders, so I feel your pain! I was up at 3:00 this morning, digging for the Flexeril. On a lighter note, I LOVE your new quilt! Way to go! 🙂

Ohh… Randi, I feel for you! The good news is that most incidences of the symptoms you describe will go away within 3-5 days- well at least feel better than how you woke up.
I dealt with a neck problem for almost 20 years before resorting to a cervical spine fusion about 9 years ago. My neck would act up like you describe about 6 times per year. I tried everything- chiro, PT, etc. over and over. I only had the surgery when the pain never left and I lost function in my right hand.
Consider getting an MRI on your neck, too- as neck pain can sometimes be felt as shoulder pain. This tends to confuse the doctors.
Once you check that out, consider a round of PT to strengthen your supportive muscles. I always found this to be helpful.
Hugs, Carla
