Right here at the end, when I was doing so well…I busted it big. And I’m not a bit sorry. As I stated in a previous post, the fabric store, that my Mom & I like to visit together, is going out of business. Everything was 50% off. I love that fabric store and it was my last ever shopping trip there. I bought big, but I think I made wise choices. Things that will be very useful when shopping the stash.
Here is the sack. It reminded me of Santa’s.
My shopping spoils.
Mmmmm….68 yards of yummy fabric goodness. Love it!
My final totals for 2008:
- Incoming Yardage to date: 152 yds.
- Outgoing Yardage to date: 120 yds.
- Total Stash Busted to date: <32> yds.
Today I have been in a piecing frenzy, but I will save those pictures for later this week. Maybe my Wednesday WIP post. My new header will give you a tiny sneak peek. I’ve been working on three projects at one time! 2009 may be the year of project-itis. I have two days of vacation left. I am enjoying it so, so very much. I wish it didn’t have to end.
ROTFLOL You know… I really think you should just give in and open up a quilt store yourself. Take over half of hubby’s shop and claim it as your half of the business… the quilting half LOL Taking notes on when you are going back to work leaving those pretty pretty fabrics completely unguarded……

I think the whole stashbusting thing is over-rated. If you don’t have ample stash, how can you start a new project in the middle of the night???

Lovely fabrics – and thread is always necessary – with no thread – there just isn’t any sewing now then is there? Looks like you could bust some stash by stitching up some “green” grocery bags for when you go stash shopping! I like to make bags with some of my yardage that has fallen out of favor – makes way for the new! Anyway, a 50% off sale for good quality fabric is plenty of reason to stock up!!!
Cheers!

I busted big too for the last week, so I see I’m in good company. 50% is too much to pass up on great things. Plus, it’s lots of pretties to pet!

Oh my, I am wiping up the slobber/drool as I gasped at that lovely STUFFFFF! I know you’ll use it, and you performed a community benefit, helping to reduce the store’s inventory. Good job.

How could you pass up all those goodies??? I did the same thing a while back when my favorite quilt shop decided to clear out everything that wasn’t selling for $3 per yard. I bought over 100 yards of beautiful fabric, many in 8-10 yard chunks, so I now have stuff for beautiful backings.

those sales will get ya every time! LOL That’s what got me..but hey–if there is ever a reason to buy fabric, 50% is it! And you sure got some yummy stuff. And you are using fabric, so it’s a good thing to infuse a new little energy into the rest.
