Finally! This one took me way too long. It was really a challenge for me. It’s for a customer and will be a Christmas gift to one of her granddaughters.
The little girl’s nickname is Butterfly, so I stenciled butterflies in the border and connected them with swirls.
The back shows how much stitching there really is.
I hope she likes it! I have another finish to report, but I’m saving that for tomorrow’s post. See you then!

Very nice quilting Randi! The quilt, though, reminds me of how much the Wizard of Oz has always creeped me out. I would not have been able to quilt that one.

WOW!. Ya know I have said how I would never know what to make with that fabric but that quilt is very nice. I love the special touch in the quilting. She will love it!

Man Randi, I want it! I love the Wizard of Oz, have seen it too many times to count. I have almost bought that kit a bazillion times, but didnt know how I would quilt it. Guess you solved THAT mystery….. I should buy the kit, make it and send it to RANDI to quilt! Great job!

Oh how I wish my Grandma had been a quilter ….. we shared a love of the Wizard of Oz …. and I would have WILTED for that quilt!

Beautifully done, Randi! Quilts such as these tend to leave me a bit befuddled :), but you’ve done a wonderfully creative job on this top. It looks like a really intense bout of quilting.

Randi, your quilting choices turned this from so-so to excellent. I bet Grandma loves it and little Butterfly will be delighted when she sees all the butterflies and the other fun motifs you’ve put into the quilt (stones, wind swirls, etc).
